Enjoy all the fun of a traditional melodrama with clever and unique twists! The Proudwells are a well-meaning farming family, struggling to make ends meet, partly because of patriarch Chance Proudwell's penchant for an occasional game of poker. Enter Trustee Workhard, who offers a sizeable cash offer to the Proudwells in return for the right to clear the timber off their land. All seems to be going well for the Proudwells, who can finally pay off their mortgage. And it's love at first sight for the Trustee and the Proudwell's oldest daughter, Prudence. But, what kind of melodrama would it be if the hero saved the day when nobody was in dire straits? Little does anybody know that the vile and treacherous Lucifus Landswipe is also after the Proudwell's land. Lucifus has discovered there is gold on the property and will go to great lengths to get it, even as far as staging the death - and then the disappearance - of Prudence.
